ORBIS²

By 1024 Architecture (FR)

ORBIS² is an audiovisual installation that explores the concept of hidden reality through a luminous and sound composition. Three light mediums — video projection, laser, and LED screen — interact intricately, illustrating the principles of quantum physics, where elements only make sense in relation to one another. At the core of the piece, a cube floats in space like a moving painting. Its form is carved by an invisible volume that unveils a wireframe structure in the background: a luminous grid, evoking the very framework of matter. This hidden presence suggests an underlying energy, a fundamental essence of reality.
At the intersection of these two levels of existence, a laser beam cuts through space with surgical precision, materializing the point of contact between the visible and the invisible. The entire piece is animated by synchronized sound pulses, as if the matter itself is vibrating to the frequencies of its environment.
ORBIS² references Malevitch’s “Black Square on White Background”: a simple shape carrying a profound reflection on abstraction and infinity. What if the reality we perceive is just a fraction of a vaster world, a play of interferences between different hidden dimensions?

Original creation conceived for the INTO THE LIGHT exhibitionPremière à INTO THE LIGHT

At the crossroads of architecture, design, and visual arts, 1024 architecture explores new ways of animating space by merging built and digital matter. Their projects blur the boundary between the real and the virtual, transforming architecture into a dynamic and immersive medium. Their work spans from ephemeral audiovisual performances to permanent urban installations.
