For the first time presented in France, Nautilus was created in China in 2018 as part of a collaboration with director Zhang Yimou. A larger and more majestic version of Ammonite, the collective’s iconic piece, Nautilus is not its successor but rather an alternative interpretation — grand and imposing.
Though completely motionless, the installation gives the illusion of being a dynamic object, as if trying to gently lift off the ground. Scale delivers with Nautilus a narrative where music and light interact and collide in an energetic frenzy.
