ONE'S SUNSET IS ANOTHER ONE'S SUNRISE

by Jacqueline Hen (DE)

OSIAOS is a colorful artificial landscape imagined and created by Jacqueline Hen. A deeply immersive installation, it invites the public to walk, sit, or lie in a midnight-blue sand and physically immerse themselves in an enchanting environment. Made of steel and mirrors, OSIAOS unfolds an immense golden and orange sun, an infinite suspended sphere — an artificial sun existing beyond the boundaries of time and geography. This artificial sun never rises nor sets, challenging the linear experience of day and night. It reflects the simultaneity of realities: while one person admires a sunrise, another contemplates a sunset. The interaction between light, sound, and reflection reveals the interconnection between our existences and reminds us that our realities, though distinct, are part of a shared whole.

Jacqueline Hen is a light artist and spatial designer whose installations explore the boundaries of bodily perception. Jacqueline Hen builds bridges between art, design, and the academic world through her works. With one obsession: bringing to life immersive artworks that challenge our perception of reality.
In 2019, her installation Light High won the International Light Art Award. Jacqueline is also a professor at the University of Applied Sciences Wiesbaden and was an assistant professor at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, where she has promoted experimental practices in art and media design.
